About

Neelam is a Ph.D. Candidate in Industrial Engineering & Management Sciences (IEMS), with concentrations in Computational Social Science, Applied Statistics, and Optimization at Northwestern University (NU). She is a researcher in the Science of Networks in Communities (SONIC) Lab, led by Dr. Noshir Contractor. She also serves as the Co-President of the NU Chapter of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS), and a research fellowship mentor for high school students through Lumiere Education.

Prior to graduate school, Neelam worked as a Strategy & Analytics Consultant at Deloitte Consulting for 2+ years. She holds a B.S. in Biomedical & Health Sciences Engineering from NC State University and UNC Chapel Hill and a B.S. in Economics from NC State University.

Neelam currently lives in Evanston, IL. In her free time, she enjoys playing basketball, eating ice cream, traveling, and reading.
